About

(Recovered fragment: Archive Codex A-17, Source Unverified)

Those first days were the worst.

Some still say the bombs over London were the start of the last war. They were wrong.

The nukes were just the beginning. Billions died—but not all. Radiation claimed the rest. Emp pulses erased every grid, every vault, every promise. Cities collapsed under their own hunger. The world didn’t end in fire. It ended in silence. But while the cities decayed, the wilds began to breathe again. And then—something no one could have ever imagined happened.

Magic returned to the world.

Some called it divine. Aether, the breath of the world. Others blamed radiation, geomagnetic flux, or something older waking beneath the skin of the Earth.

I’ve always believed it never left. Magic is like life—finite. Spread too thin, it flickers and fades. But when enough threads are cut, the rest burn brighter. Our extinction made us powerful. Now, seven hundred years later, the world is changed. The bones of the old empires still rust beneath the soil, but one fortress still endures. Arx Aeternum.

Forged in the wake of collapse. Raised as the first military academy of the new age. A sanctum. A crucible. A proving ground for those who would serve the Crown—or survive it. The world didn’t end. It evolved.

And in the shadow of Arx Aeternum, five cadets are thrown together—not by fate, but by fire.

They weren’t chosen. They were broken. Marked by violence, grief, mutation, and impossible power. What they find in each other isn’t prophecy—it’s the only thing that might keep them alive.

Love that’s messy and real.

 Loyalty that’s earned in blood.

Betrayal that cuts deeper than any blade.

And losses that never stop taking.

This is not a legend. It’s a reckoning.

And they’ll either burn the world down together—

or save what’s left of it.
